Beverly Ohio Volunteer Fire Department
Income Tax | Mayor's Court | Public Works | Fire | Police
The Beverly Volunteer Fire Department was established in April of 1883 to provide safety and emergency services to protect life and property in the Village of Beverly, as well as Waterford Township. It will strive to be staffed with highly trained volunteers who will maintain equipment purchased through funding throughout the township for firefighting and rescues.
With over 20 active volunteers, we serve the Village of Beverly and all of Waterford Township. We also have a mutual aid agreement with all of Washington and Morgan counties. Services include all types of rescue, automobile accident responses, carbon monoxide checks, smoke investigations, and all related fire services.
We rely on funding from the Waterford Township tax levy, as well as our annual fundraisers. Funding received is used to replace trucks, to pay insurance fees, and keep equipment safe and functioning.

Apply to Serve
The state of Ohio requires a 36-hour training course to be eligible to serve as a volunteer firefighter. Our department will cover the cost of this training, should you wish to apply. The only requirements are a willingness to serve your community and be dedicated to protecting its members. Applications can be dropped off to any of our current firefighters or delivered to our firehouse on Monday evenings.
Giving Back
Fire prevention education is among our top priorities. Each year, we provide comprehensive safety and prevention information in our elementary schools during Fire Prevention Week. We are also active participants in SafetyTown.
